Another creative sketch from Ali

Please pop over and visit Sketches: creatively yours to see the wonderful interpretations of the entire design team over there. Or Ali's blog showcasing her own creations at Lovingly created by Ali.

I used Ali's sketch to create a layered PSD template and then Elie's Pieces kit "what a catch" to show off our beautiful kitty, Cleo.
The title: of what does my kitty dream?
of chasing birds and catching fish of course.

My Easter 2011

Good Friday we slept late and skipped church, I know that is the day to celebrate Jesus death on the cross for our sins, however I do find it can be quite depressing. Our 23rd anniversary was on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday we woke at 7.30. Plenty of time for the “Easter bunny” to put out the selection of Easter eggs in every one’s eating spots. Thankfully the days of me waking up at 5am and hopping around the damp garden hiding eggs is a thing of the past. The whole Eater egg hunt thing never really worked in our family because of the large age gap. Oldest was faster, taller and stronger and would rush around the garden at the speed of light finding everything and the other 2 were disappointed and could be quite distraught that he wouldn’t share his huge haul with them. Even though, the "Bunny" always hid enough for everyone, three of each EVERY SINGLE TIME!
So we had a mellow start to the day, no breakfast as we call chocolate Easter eggs a balanced meal on this special day of the year. Then on to church for a family service with more celebrations and a heartfelt time of communion. Cheese and biscuits followed by an afternoon nap and then on to A for a potjie to celebrate her birthday, that all rounded our weekend off beautifully.

Debbie's challenge 102

It's all about the bunny.
When you are a mall child, the only significance Easter has is that it heralds the arrival of the Easter Bunny, mysteriously leaving chocolate eggs all around the garden!
Here are Guy and Molly in 2007 aged 6 & 3 with their loot!

Olivia's challenge 102

Recently created a little album all about our extended family on my Dad's side. Some of my favourite memories of us being together are Easter Sunday's spent at country parks. When it rained we held our picnics indoors & rolled our eggs down the stairs instead of a hill. All except my cousin Scott who thought it would be a better idea to throw the chocolate egg. It smashed, the inner bag burst, there were Smarties & chocolate everywhere and my Auntie wasn't best pleased!

Creatively Yours

Are you ready for a new sketch? I sure am. Here you go... it's one with space for 2 pictures, embellished with scallops and linear elements in addition to a few florals or flourishes. Room for journaling, as always... we can't forget the journaling!! Hope you like it!
(please visit Ali and her amazing team over at Sketches - creatively yours)

My LO is also featured on their blog with their whole creative teams interpretations.
So many glorious ideas and eye candy.
I created a layered PSD template based on Ali's sketch, if you're interested just email me and I will email it to you. (sadly I have no idea how to upload it to a free file sharing site) or you could get it from Ali as well.

My heart belongs in Africa

I will readily admit that I am a transplant to this continent, having been born in Germany and only arriving in South Africa when I was 4. This is home to me now, even though there are many things that I can (and do) find fault with. There are so many things that make this the absolute best place to live. I love the Mediterranean climate, the hot dry summers and wet and windy winters. I love the colour blue that the sky is. Yes sometimes it is dark and dreary and an unhappy blue, but most days it is blue, a wonderful clear sky, soft fluffy clouds. I love African animals, going to Shamwari was such a highlight for me. The game drives into the bush and getting up close and personal with the animals. Watching rhino’s eat, hearing them crunch and rip the grass as they grazed. Seeing a cheetah sitting and surveying the horizon, content and complete.  Being amongst the elephants, watching a small ellie think he was bigger than our landrover and give a mock charge as he ran down the hill, til he got closer and saw that actually we were much bigger and he shuffled off looking sheepish.

Karen W's challenge 102

Its called "Spring time with the Easter bunny"

Journalling reads

Stanley and Arthur had to be persuaded to go and stand with the Easter Bunny at the Keukenhof Gardens. Nancy wouldn't go anywhere near him- maybe because he had no chocolate maybe because he was a man in an outfit!

Heather's challenge 102

Journaling: Oh, sweet Bella. You learned a hard lesson at the Easter egg hunt when you spilled your basket and older kids came and swooped up your eggs. On the flip side, others GAVE you some of their eggs to make up for it. Then you won a stuffed bunny at the cake walk and all was forgiven and forgotten. We continued the Easter fun with our egg cracking and a family egg hunt. Of course, the day wouldn't be complete without our pictures before Mass and stopping to check out the tulips.

Another two from me...

Miss Cleo is most likely to -
  1. look beautiful
  2. catch a bird and bring it home to play with it
  3. drink very daintily out of the toilet
  4. cuddle up on a lap
  5. seek out a sunny spot
  6. get caught in the wrong place at the wrong time (she has often been blamed for stuff her sister has done because DH can't tell the difference.) she has also fallen into the pool chasing birds and been squished by the garage door closing
  7. come when called
  8. throw up on the carpet, stairs, tiles
  9. be called vomit comet, or slinky
  10. have a similar pose to Queen Cleopatra, after whom she was named.

Available at Enchanted Studio Scraps here.
