Stefanie's

My Father, my daughter holding hands
She doesn't hesitate to trust,
Me?
I'm the one holding back,
removed and taking photos
~it's easier than dealing with the emotion of how badly I want to be " my daddy's little girl"
the fear of rejection stings too painfully
and I can't overcome the need to protect myself rather than take that risk...
The result ? Two adults unable to show their love for one another.
Why can't I be mature enough to trust like a little child?

Stefanie,

I too, can understand the distance you feel....it's painful to feel that detached and have that longing. I hope that you and your dad can come together one day and your heart will fill up with the happiness that you truly deserve.

Thank you for being so honest and raw.
