Another from Melissa

Title: A year of change: 2010
Journaling: We have a lot we want to accomplish as a family in the upcoming years, so there are a lot of things we will need to change to reach these goals. We will need to pay off our debts, build some savings, and learn to live more within our means. We want to bring other changes, as well, but we're keeping those to ourselves for now. (We need to accomplish the others first, which is already a major undertaking!) We really look forward to the next year & beyond & hope we acheive much success!

Cindy's challenge 72.

Title - Nurture
Journaling says -

"For 2010, more than any other year, I have realised that I need to make my family the priority. They need nurturing to grow into the people they want to be. They need to feel safe and secure and know that they are loved. I need to help them with the changes that are ahead of them. To do this I need to be home for them, for them to come home from school and know that I am there waiting from them. But... I also need to nurture myself. I have neglected myself for so many years, especially since mum's passing, and I need to stop and give myself time to grieve so that I can be fully there for myself and my family. Family first, work later."

Title: A year of little moments
Journaling:
Nothing big happened in 2009. No new babies in the family, no weddings to go to, no graduations, no funerals to attend. We were able to enjoy being a family of 4 without any major stress. We had a lot of little moments that strengthened our family bonds: a trip to South Haven where we got stuck in a construction-induced traffic jam; trips to the Air Zoo to look at airplanes; trips to Binder Park Zoo to look at animals; visits to the Celery Flats to take a walk down the trail as a family; days and evenings at home watching movies, playing outside in the back yard, and reading books; breakfasts at Theo & Stacy’s on Sunday mornings; birthday parties for Ethan and Cameron; co-oping at Ethan’s pre-school; spending time with friends and family at their homes; swimming in Grandma and Papa’s back yard swimming pool; taking a weekend trip to Chicago to visit friends and Lego Land (which turned out to be not as fun as anticipated); family trips to the grocery store. All of these things individually may not seem like much, but together they make up memories we will forever cherish. Yes. 2009 was the year of little, ordinary moments. I have to say it was the best year yet!

Exciting announcement!

Debbie Hodge has generously agreed to sponsor our prize for January.
The class you could win is called "scrapbooking your everyday life".
( I have taken the image above and the writing below straight from her site, www.debbiehodge.com please visit and check out the other classes on offer)

Scrapbooking Everyday Life

The photos that go onto everyday life scrapbook pages have a great variety. Figuring out how to scrapbook them and organize them in your albums requires a different approach from that you might use to scrapbook photos from defined events like parties and holidays.

The challenge in everyday life scrapbooking is to decide how to present photos that can seem almost random in a way that reveals the fabric of your home and life. Flipping through the stack of photos you wonder: Does that photo really merit its own page? Why does that one matter? How can I showcase this? Can I put those photos together? Do I need to write much for this one or is it obvious? How much context should I keep in the photo? As an everyday scrapbooker, you are photo diarist, historian, sociologist, and memoir writer all in one seeking to document and make sense of your personal world.

Thanks again to Debbie.
Ladies you all have something good to work for now.
Anyone participating in the challenge for this fortnight (challenge 71)
